Our Story
Carlton House is a beautiful historic heritage building that we have had the opportunity to develop into a spectacular childcare centre and preschool with five large open rooms. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia educational approach our unique environments enrich children’s minds and growth for their first five years of learning.
The equipment and materials that have been purchased and provided for the children in this environment has been sourced to help provide the opportunities to experience the pleasures of the natural world and aid sensory stimulation . We believe the environment is the foundation for an early childhood and preschool curriculum that is intriguing and aesthetically pleasing, inviting all children’s curiosity, wonder and imagination.
The Early Years Learning Framework
Our Centre provides child-centred play-based educational programs and planned curricula. Our educators develop these programs that are based on The Early Years Learning Framework.
The Early Years Learning Framework provides general direction for educators in early childhood settings to facilitate children’s learning. It defines the highest expectations for all children’s learning from birth to five years and the transition to school. These expectations are communicated through five Learning Outcomes:
Assessment and Rating Process
All services approved under the Education and Care Services National Law are assessed and rated by their state or territory regulatory authority.

The 7 quality areas are:
In November 2015 we went through the assessment and rating process for the first time and received an overall rating of Meeting National Quality Standard. We were extremely excited to receive Exceeding National Quality Standard 3 out of 7 areas. What a great start for our team!
Vision
Love, Learn, Live, Grow.
We as educators in this learning environment have a responsibility for each child’s learning journey. We recognise that from the interactions and conversations between adults and children engaged in projects or play that learning is emphasised, enhanced and extended. We will endeavor to provide a safe, clean and caring environment and encourage family relationships and community involvement.
We believe through play, children explore, experiment, enjoy and discover themselves. Belonging to, and becoming and being part of the physical, social, emotional and intellectual world around them. We embrace, respect and accept children from different cultures, religions and lifestyles.
All children are our future.
